OUR QUALITY STANDARDS

All of our LED grow lights meet the most stringent quality standards in the industry. We know that it can be complicated to purchase an LED grow light, so we hope this helps you to demystify the certifications and make an informed decision about your purchase. If you have any questions, hit us up at sales@spectrumkingled.com.

CERTIFICATIONS

Any LED grow light worth buying should meet relevant safety standards and energy efficiency certifications. Not only will these help you to protect your facility and your people, they’ll make your purchase eligible for rebates from utility companies.

  • ETL

What it is: An ETL certification means that products have been tested to set safety standards. The certification comes from Intertek’s Electrical Testing Labs. Intertek is an OSHA Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory with the goal of creating safe working and living environments. They provide assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services. All Spectrum King lights are ETL certified.

  • CE

What it is: Many products require CE marking before they can be sold in the EU. CE marking indicates that a product has been assessed by the manufacturer and deemed to meet EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements. It is required for products manufactured anywhere in the world that are then marketed in the EU. All Spectrum King lights are CE certified.

  • DLC

What it is: The DLC's Horticultural Qualified Products List designates energy-efficient horticultural lighting. Growers rely on the Horticultural Qualified Products List to validate performance claims so they can find efficient and effective indoor lighting options for their crops and keep up with cutting-edge technologies. In effect, if a light is listed by DLC, it means the light is an energy efficient, qualified horticultural option. DLC listing is especially important because it’s often required by energy utilities to qualify for rebates. All Spectrum King lights are DLC listed.

  • IP65

What it is: An IP (ingress protection) rating is the rating used to classify the different levels of sealing effectiveness provided by an electrical enclosure against foreign bodies such as objects, water, dirt, etc. An IP65 rating means that a fixture is dust tight and that water projected by a nozzle against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects. All Spectrum King lights are IP65 rated.

  • Q90

What it is: All LED diodes degrade over time, but there's a large difference in longevity between high-quality and low-quality diodes. A Q90 rating measures the time it takes before a light's photon output degrades more than 10% from its day 1 performance. For our lights, this period is over 60,000 hours. In practical terms, that means a light with our Q90 rating should still be blasting high quality performance for a solid decade of ordinary runtime.
